Cathedral Prep graduate Greg Podufal saved his best for last during the good spring golf season.
The Georgetown junior tied for second place in the Big East Championships at Callawassie Island Country Club in Charleston, S.C. The week before, he finished second in the Notre Dame Collegiate Invitational at Oak Hill C.C. in Rochester, N.Y.
Podufal, a two-time District 10 champion, shot a par of under-par rounds — 5-under-par 67 and 2-under 70 — for a 3-over 219 total, eight shots behind the winner at the Big East Championships. He finished with a 2-over 212 at Oak Hill.
